Position Overview:
Ready to power up your career with Benchmark Electrical Solutions? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our Service Department in Windsor, CO. We are seeking a detail-oriented, Licensed Journeyman Electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems installations and NEC code. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for both commercial and residential projects. You'll be expected to uphold the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and professionalism while ensuring all work is code-compliant and customer-focused.Key Responsibilities:
Plan and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per job specs and local codes Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components Troubleshoot and test systems using tools like voltmeters and oscilloscopes Inspect electrical systems for safety hazards and compliance issues Interpret blueprints and sketches to determine wiring locations Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs Work from heights using ladders, scaffolds, or roofs Maintain a valid electrician's license and regulatory documentation Advise management on potential electrical hazards Complete physically demanding tasks such as trench digging and lifting heavy objects Assist in evaluating and mentoring apprentices, teaching them how to be good electricians through quality, craftsmanship and safety. Education:
Technical Degree from an apprentice electrician trade school (preferred)License:
Valid Journeyman Electrician license (Required) Valid Drivers License and acceptable MVR record (Required)Experience:
3-5 years of relevant experience Excellent customer service, time management, and work ethic with an emphasis on safety In-depth knowledge of NEC code Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects Proficiency with smartphones and basic computer software Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Professional, clean appearance and demeanor Effective communication with customers and team members Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through on assigned tasks MUST be dependable and on time every day Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions Ability to climb up or down ladders, stairs and scaffolding. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds. Manual dexterity and physical mobility Ability to apply a pushing or pulling force in excess of 100 pounds. Ability to work in high, precarious places. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to work indoor or in various outdoor weather conditions (extreme heat/cold, rain, ice, high winds…) Exposure to construction environments and debris Required to wear personal protective equipment provided by employer and comply with all safety requirements. Work in tight, confined areas may be required Occasionally it may be required to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays or on call. Why Work with Us?
