Job Title:
Industrial Electrician Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Electrician to support our plant operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls across high-speed bottling and packaging equipment. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and troubleshoot 480VAC to 24VDC electrical systems and motor control centers. Troubleshoot and repair process and packaging equipment such as fillers, conveyors, packers, and palletizers. Work with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives to maintain electronic control systems. Calibrate, inspect, and troubleshoot flow, pressure, level, and temperature instrumentation. Lead and train other E&I technicians as needed. Create work orders in our maintenance system. Troubleshoot photo eyes and proximity sensors. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair liquid packaging machinery. Electrical ability to troubleshoot 480V electric, 3 phase motors, and PLCs. Experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Solid troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems. Skilled in using electrical tools such as megger, amp/volt meters, and conduit benders. Understanding of 480VAC power distribution systems and NEC code. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on experience as an industrial electrician. 1-2 years in a high-speed production environment (food/beverage or bottling preferred). Formal E&I training from vocational school, military, or certification program preferred. Experience with PLCs and industrial controls (Allen-Bradley, SLC-500, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP) preferred. Familiarity with VFDs and servo systems (PowerFlex, SEW, Pacific Scientific, Rockwell). Knowledge of vision systems and online coding/printing systems is a plus. Why Work Here? GMP food and beverage company environment with no jewelry, makeup, or long nails allowed on the floor, featuring pretty casual attire. The role involves standing on hard surfaces such as concrete for up to 12 hours per shift, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in varying seasonal temperatures. Function effectively in areas of high noise while using proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
