Job Description

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to support safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing facility. In this on-site role, you will perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled systems, and plant power distribution. You will troubleshoot equipment failures, read and interpret electrical schematics, and install or upgrade controls to reduce downtime. Working in a safety-focused, collaborative environment, you will follow strict lockout/tagout and electrical safety standards while contributing to continuous improvement and long-term plant reliability. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on plant equipment and systems Troubleshoot and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled machinery, and power distribution components Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Install, upgrade, and commission electrical equipment and controls in a manufacturing environment Follow and enforce lockout/tagout and all Heidelberg Materials safety procedures Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage in CMMSInspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and code non-compliance Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with training and mentoring less experienced maintenance personnel Required Skills Industrial electrical troubleshooting Reading electrical schematics PLC fundamentals Variable frequency drives (VFDs) Motor controls and power distribution Use of multimeters and test equipment CMMS maintenance systems Lockout/Tagout procedures
