Job Title:
Electrician Technician Job Description This role focuses on performing the full electrical scope of work for a new construction library expansion on an active college campus. You will assemble, install, and maintain electrical wiring, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools, with a strong emphasis on bending and running conduit and EMT. You will work from blueprints and schematics, install panels and fuse boxes, and complete terminations and troubleshooting on a busy commercial jobsite. Responsibilities Assemble, install, and maintain electrical wiring, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools on a new construction commercial project. Bend, run, and install conduit and EMT accurately and efficiently, including in walls and other finished or semi-finished areas. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other construction documents to plan and execute electrical installations. Install fuse boxes, panels, and other electrical components, ensuring proper layout, alignment, and secure mounting. Pull wire, make terminations, and complete panel wiring according to project specifications and applicable electrical codes. Perform electrical troubleshooting on circuits, components, and systems to identify issues and implement effective repairs. Work safely and attentively on an active college campus, maintaining focus and avoiding distractions in a busy environment. Use basic hand tools and power tools, including a cordless drill, to complete daily tasks efficiently and to a high standard. Follow all site safety requirements, including consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Arrive on site by the required start time each day and work a full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. For top installers, work independently with little to no supervision and oversee a crew of helpers when needed, ensuring quality and productivity. Perform all phases of commercial new construction electrical work, from rough-in to finish, in accordance with project plans and relevant codes. Essential Skills Ability to perform all phases of electrical work with minimal supervision. Experience working on large, active commercial or institutional jobsites. Ability to adhere to and consistently use required PPE, including a Type 2 hard hat, safety glasses, safety gloves, steel-toed boots, high-visibility vest or shirt, and appropriate work pants. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
