Job Description

John's Island Club is seeking an Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This position is a senior level electrician position, requiring extensive skills and training, to perform installation and repairs to electrical systems. Essential Job Functions:
Perform inspections, repairs and installation of commercial electrical systems such as receptacles, switches, electrical panels, connections to equipment, disconnects and controls. Perform complex electrical repairs and installations with little supervision. Able to trouble shoot low voltage control issues and repair. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all electrical systems. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor to assure that all electrical systems are safely maintained with accurate records. Work with the other facilities management staff on electric, mechanical and construction projects, repairs, and installations. Understand, abide by, and provide guidance to others, on all safety regulations. On call for after-hour emergencies as scheduled, as well as required for the on-call for Hurricane Preparation Plan. Generate requests for various materials needed to perform electrical repairs and installations. Maintain an accurate parts inventory for repairs.
Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth skill, knowledge and understanding in electrical systems and installation, as typically demonstrated by 10 yrs prior experience in commercial electrical field. Strong general knowledge of control systems and electricity. Ability to independently develop, plan and install new electrical projects. Ability to work independently with little supervision or guidance. Ability to work well with others, and to supervise work of other mechanics and assistants. Strong knowledge and understanding of all appropriate safety regulations and requirements.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Florida driver's license, with satisfactory driving record. Journeyman's License strongly preferred.
Special Working Conditions:
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, lift/move up to 50 pounds, stoop, walk, sit and bend. Works primarily in varying environmental conditions, with exposure to extremes of heat and cold, dirt, heights, confined spaces, potential electrical and other hazards.
