Contract-to-Hire Job Summary We are hiring Journeyman Electricians for a client in the Covington, GA area on a mission-critical project. This role leads and performs installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated equipment in data center, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate is experienced with live/energized work, strong in troubleshooting, and comfortable directing Helpers and Apprentices on-site. Responsibilities Lead and perform installations, alterations, additions, and repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and equipment Troubleshoot and proactively problem-solve electrical systems Bend and install all types of conduit, including concentric bending Install switchgear and perform required terminations, including terminations/splicing up to and including 600 volts Lead and assist in all types of wire pulls (conduit, cable tray, floor ducts, wire way, etc.) Interpret electrical construction drawings, terminate cables, and install and troubleshoot control wiring from schematics Plan, schedule, and organize tasks to meet deadlines Dig trenches by hand tools or equipment as necessary Erect pulley systems to lift/move heavy equipment and give hand signals to operators Complete routine daily inspections of equipment and work areas, and document regular safety inspections Direct and train Helpers and Apprentices in proper work practices Work at heights up to 90' from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, roofs, or other designated safe work areas Work in restrictive/tight areas such as switchgear rooms, crawl spaces, utility tunnels, and attics Must Haves Accredited Apprenticeship Program completion or six years of on-the-job electrical experience Journeyman License, where required by state, locale, or project Knowledge of NEC, state, and local codes Experience with terminations/splicing up to and including 600 volts OSHA 10 Certification Minimum Aerial Lift Certification Ability to work with live and energized parts Ability to work at heights up to 90' and in restrictive/tight areas Ability to lift loads of up to 51 lbs. and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, climbing) for extended periods Ability to work scheduled hours plus overtime on short notice, including outdoor work in all weather conditions Preferred Skills Certification to operate platform and boom lifts (or ability to obtain upon hire) High school diploma or equivalency Knowledge of other trades (concrete, masonry, metals, wood construction methods) Experience training or supervising Helpers and Apprentices
