Job Description

About the Position We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Installation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, wiring, configuring, testing, and servicing automated gates, access control systems, and related equipment for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, solving problems in the field, and learning new technology. Experience with automatic gates, access control, low-voltage electrical systems, security systems, or related construction trades is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person. Key Responsibilities Install and configure automatic gate operators and associated equipment. Install access control systems including keypads, card readers, vehicle detection, intercoms, and other entry devices. Install and terminate low-voltage wiring and electrical components. Install conduit, wire, sensors, loops, safety devices, photo eyes, and related equipment. Perform equipment setup, programming, testing, and troubleshooting. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage problems and determine appropriate repairs. Read and follow installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment instructions. Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, drills, saws, meters, and other jobsite equipment safely. Work with customers, general contractors, electricians, and other trades to complete installations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Complete service documentation, job notes, and equipment checklists. Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer installation requirements. Travel to various job sites as required.
Qualifications Required:
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems. Basic understanding of electrical and low-voltage wiring. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and follow technical instructions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Due to company insurance requirements, must be 25+ with a clean MVR. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift equipment and materials and perform physical work throughout the day. Professional appearance and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently while also being a productive member of a team.
Preferred:
Experience installing or servicing automatic gates or gate operators. Experience with access control or security systems. Experience with low-voltage electrical systems. Experience with vehicle detection systems, safety loops, photo eyes, or related equipment. Electrical, electronics, welding, construction, HVAC, security, or telecommunications experience. Familiarity with manufacturers such as DoorKing, HySecurity, CellGate, or similar equipment. Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, digging and working outdoors. The technician must be able to lift and carry tools and equipment and safely work from ladders when required.
