Job Description

Description We're hiring a Service Electrician who can walk into a customer's home or business, diagnose the problem, explain it in plain English, and fix it right the first time. This is not new construction. You'll be running service calls, troubleshooting existing systems, performing repairs and upgrades, and representing our company face-to-face with homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients. The right candidate is a strong diagnostician, works well without a foreman looking over their shoulder, and understands that in service work the customer experience matters as much as the wire nut. Key Responsibilities Service & Troubleshooting Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls at residential and commercial properties. Diagnose electrical faults — dead circuits, tripping breakers, flickering lights, GFCI/AFCI issues, open neutrals, failing devices — using meters, testers, and systematic troubleshooting. Perform repairs on existing systems, including device replacement, circuit repair, and corrections to prior work. Identify code violations and safety hazards, and clearly document what you find. Installations & Upgrades Panel and service upgrades, subpanel installs, breaker replacements. Add circuits for appliances, HVAC, EV chargers, generators, hot tubs, and shop equipment. Install fixtures, fans, recessed lighting, switches, receptacles, and controls. Whole-home surge protection, smoke/CO detectors, and safety device installs. Customer Communication Explain the problem, the fix, and the options to the customer in language they understand — no jargon dumps, no scare tactics. Present repair and upgrade options honestly and let the customer make an informed decision. Document work, photos, and notes in our field software (ServiceTitan) on every call. Leave the work area cleaner than you found it. Every time. Truck & Job Management Maintain a stocked, organized, clean company vehicle. Manage your own daily schedule of calls, communicate delays proactively to dispatch. Track materials used and complete paperwork accurately so we can invoice same-day. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; trade school or vocational training preferred. Minimum 3 years of hands-on electrical experience, with at least 1 year in service and troubleshooting (not exclusively new construction). Proven ability to diagnose faults independently — this is the core skill of the job. Working knowledge of NEC and Georgia/local amendments, especially as applied to existing and older structures. Comfortable working in occupied homes and businesses: professional appearance, respectful of property, good with pets and kids underfoot. Proficient with meters, testers, hand and power tools, and basic smartphone/tablet apps for work orders. Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record (you'll be in a company vehicle). Ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Willing to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency calls.
