Utilize hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment effectively during installation and repair tasks. Ensure all work adheres to electrical safety procedures, including proper grounding, circuit protection, and lockout/tagout protocols. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects to meet project specifications. Read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to plan wiring layouts for new installations or upgrades. Troubleshoot complex electrical systems in industrial settings involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems. Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, upgrades, and compliance documentation for audits or regulatory reviews. Skills Proven experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial settings with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards and local electrical codes. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to electrical systems. Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, clamp meters, and multimeters. Experience working with high-voltage wiring safely within industrial environments. Ability to install and maintain low voltage systems including security alarms, fire alarms, or communication networks. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation controls, and related troubleshooting techniques. Strong hand tool proficiency including wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers, drills, saws, and other power tools. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures related to electrical work including lockout/tagout practices. Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately for installation or repair projects.
