An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Always adhere to plant safety rulesRead blueprints and apply layout and precision measurement skills to prepare workMachine parts to rebuild/ replace mechanical components and to construct new componentsRepair/ replace belts, pulleys, bearings, gears, couplings, and shaftsLubricate bearings, gears, couplings and rotating parts, align couplings and shaftsTroubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems and componentsTroubleshoot AC/DC circuitsConnect motors, starters, push buttons, relays and timers in motor control circuits and troubleshoot the control circuitsRun conduit and electric wire to distribute power to point of useTroubleshoot electric power distribution (low voltage) systemsProgram and troubleshoot PLC controls, program and troubleshoot NC/CNC controlsWork in teams to solve problems and make improvements to machine and production processesPerform preventative maintenance Essential Skills and Experience High school diploma or GEDTechnical school or apprenticeshipIndustrial Electrician experience: 2 years +Must be self-motivated and be able to work with a sense of urgency with little supervisionShould have experience working with and troubleshooting Electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
Experience with AC/DC control systems and troubleshootingBasic PLC knowledgeBasic Fabrication skillsExperience running conduit and wireExperience and knowledge with Variable Frequency Drives Preferred Relevant Skills and Experience Troubleshooting and Programing PLCExperience with analog sensors, flow controls, and DC drivesNEC code knowledgeExperience using boom and scissor lift Positions reporting to this person Will provide instructions to equipment operators and others as required Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands- Employee stands frequently with task requiring stooping, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing to completed task. Lifting to 50 pounds occasionally is required.
Work Environment- While performing the duties of this job employee may be exposed to extreme temperatures and changes. Job locations can extend to temperatures of below 40 degrees to above 95 degrees. Noise levels are moderate to loud conditions all over the plant and employees are required to wear hearing protection.
