Job Title:
Facilities Electrician Job Description The Facilities Electrician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems throughout a manufacturing facility. This role supports production operations by keeping facility infrastructure, equipment, and utilities running safely, reliably, and in compliance with electrical codes and plant standards. The Facilities Electrician works closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to minimize downtime and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, panels, and control circuits across the facility. Troubleshoot electrical issues on facility equipment, production machinery, and building systems to quickly restore safe operation. Diagnose and repair problems related to motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC‑controlled equipment, sensors, and other electrical components. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. Replace or repair wiring, conduit, breakers, switches, and other electrical hardware as needed. Maintain and service electrical components of HVAC systems, compressors, pumps, and other building utilities. Support facility upgrades, expansions, and new equipment installations, including routing and installing conduit and wiring. Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, OSHA, and internal facility safety standards and procedures. Assist with energy efficiency improvements and electrical load management initiatives within the facility. Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc‑flash, and electrical safety procedures during all work activities. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, system changes, and updates to electrical documentation. Conduct routine inspections of electrical rooms, panels, and facility systems to identify issues before they cause downtime. Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions to improve safety and reliability. Support audits, compliance checks, and facility safety initiatives related to electrical systems and equipment. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot electrical issues that impact production schedules. Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors to resolve complex electrical problems efficiently. Assist with equipment moves, production line changes, and new machinery installations from an electrical standpoint. Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance and operations teams on electrical systems, safe work practices, and proper equipment use. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of experience as an Industrial or Facilities Electrician in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), industrial electrical systems, and electrical safety practices. Hands-on experience working with 3‑phase power, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control circuits. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams accurately. Proficiency in electrical maintenance and repair, including troubleshooting and resolving complex electrical issues. Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing lighting, power distribution, motors, panels, and control circuits. Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohm meters, and circuit analyzers safely and effectively. Skilled in working with conduit, wiring, and a wide range of hand tools used in electrical installation and repair. Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with PLCs, automation equipment, and building systems. Ability to interpret and work from detailed schematics and technical documentation. Background in facility maintenance supporting HVAC systems, compressors, pumps, and utilities. Experience supporting facility upgrades, expansions, and new equipment installations. Strong documentation skills for recording maintenance activities, parts usage, and system updates. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility, working primarily on a 2-2-3 schedule on third shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will work around production machinery, building systems, and facility utilities, performing both reactive and preventive maintenance. The environment involves regular use of hand tools, electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohm meters, and circuit analyzers, as well as working with conduit, wiring, panels, and industrial control equipment. Work is hands-on and may require navigating production areas, electrical rooms, and mechanical spaces while adhering to all safety procedures, including LOTO and arc‑flash standards, and following appropriate industrial attire and personal protective equipment requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Villa Rica, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
