Our work includes renovations, new installations, service calls, tenant improvements, and other project types. We're looking for someone who can assess the work, identify potential issues early, and deliver safe, organized, high-quality results. The right contractor communicates clearly, follows through on commitments, and takes pride in workmanship—from troubleshooting through final testing and cleanup.
Compensation:
$37 - $45 hourly
Responsibilities:
Install, replace, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, conduit, receptacles, switches, lighting, and related equipment. Troubleshoot electrical faults, identify underlying causes, and recommend appropriate repairs. Complete [panel upgrades, dedicated circuits, equipment connections, lighting retrofits, or other relevant services]. Read and interpret drawings, specifications, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer instructions. Assess existing conditions before starting work and flag access limitations, safety concerns, or unexpected site conditions. Identify materials and equipment needed to complete the agreed scope. Coordinate with the project contact and other trades to manage sequencing and avoid unnecessary delays. Test completed installations and repairs to verify proper operation. Support inspections and address corrections associated with the contracted work, where applicable. Protect surrounding finishes and maintain an orderly work area.
Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on electrical experience, including work on residential and commercial projects. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot independently and explain proposed solutions. Experience completing work in accordance with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and project specifications. Ability to read plans and technical documentation and translate them into accurate field work. Licenses, registrations, or other credentials appropriate to the location and scope of the assignment. Reliable transportation to job sites throughout Chicagoland. Ability to provide references from recent clients, contractors, or project managers.
