We are looking for experienced Industrial Electricians to join our team and help deliver high-quality products that meet FRA, industry, and company standards. Position Summary As an Industrial Electrician , you will install, troubleshoot, repair, modify, test, and maintain electrical systems on locomotives and shop equipment. This position requires strong diagnostic abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in an industrial environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Install, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and test electrical systems on locomotives and related equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Install and troubleshoot wiring, motors, generators, gear switches, relays, control circuits, lighting systems, and other electrical components. Diagnose and repair electrical failures using appropriate testing equipment. Safely operate electrical testing equipment including multimeters, meggers, hi-pots, motor-generator sets, conduit benders, power crimpers, and other electrical tools. Modify electrical circuits and wiring systems in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on locomotive electrical systems. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and perform work in accordance with FRA, industry, and company standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician, Locomotive Electrician, Heavy Equipment Electrician, Diesel Equipment Electrician, or similar industrial electrical role. Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics. Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, motors, generators, relays, switches, and electrical controls. Experience using electrical diagnostic and testing equipment. Technical school training or electrical certification is a plus. Skills & Abilities Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Good verbal, written, and reading comprehension skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Don't have locomotive experience? Candidates with industrial, manufacturing, heavy equipment, power generation, mining, marine, agricultural, or military electrical experience are encouraged to apply. We are willing to train the right individual on locomotive-specific systems. Working Conditions Full-time, day shift with occasional overtime. Work performed in both shop and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions. Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, climbing, lifting, and stooping. Occasionally work in confined spaces and at elevated heights. Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and heavier items with assistance or lifting equipment.
