This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing airfield lighting systems, including runway, taxiway, approach, and obstruction lighting. Duties include performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, and related equipment; diagnosing electrical faults; and repairing airfield electrical circuits and control systems. The position requires reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications, as well as installing and maintaining underground conduit, wiring, pull boxes, and grounding systems. The Airfield Technician conducts inspections and testing to ensure compliance with FAA, airport, and electrical code requirements, responds to emergency service calls to restore critical airfield systems, and coordinates with airport operations personnel, contractors, and other departments during maintenance and construction activities. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate maintenance records and inspection reports, adhering to all company, OSHA, airport, and FAA safety regulations, assisting with construction, renovation, and infrastructure upgrade projects, and operating the tools, equipment, and vehicles necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively.
