Industrial Electrician Job Description The Industrial Electrician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains industrial electrical and control systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on minimizing production downtime, supporting PLC-controlled machinery, and performing both preventive and predictive maintenance on a wide range of electrical and automation systems. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems to minimize production downtime. Maintain and repair AC and DC motors, motor starters, relays, contactors, and electrical control circuits. Troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable operation. Install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to perform accurate installations and repairs. Troubleshoot and repair industrial sensors, switches, photo eyes, limit switches, and instrumentation devices. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and electrical systems to improve reliability and reduce unplanned outages. Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment, machinery, and automation systems. Run conduit, pull wire, terminate electrical connections, and build or modify electrical control panels. Troubleshoot electrical panels, power distribution systems, and industrial control systems. Calibrate and maintain process control and instrumentation devices to ensure accurate and stable operation. Utilize multimeters, meggers, amp clamps, and other diagnostic tools to identify equipment failures and verify repairs. Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and equipment records accurately and in a timely manner. Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E, and plant safety procedures during all maintenance activities. Collaborate with maintenance mechanics, production personnel, and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, performance, and safety. Support root cause analysis and reliability-focused maintenance efforts to reduce recurring issues and optimize equipment performance. Essential Skills Strong experience in industrial electrical troubleshooting and repair in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing AC/DC motors, motor starters, relays, contactors, and control circuits. Ability to troubleshoot and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment. Experience installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing industrial sensors, switches, photo eyes, limit switches, and instrumentation devices. Proficiency in running conduit, pulling wire, terminating electrical connections, and building control panels. Ability to troubleshoot electrical panels, power distribution systems, and industrial control systems. Competence in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, meggers, and amp clamps. Strict adherence to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and

NFPA 70E

electrical safety standards. Effective collaboration skills to work with maintenance, production, and engineering teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and PLC troubleshooting. HMI troubleshooting skills for operator interfaces and control systems. Knowledge of servo and motion control systems in automated equipment. Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols used in automation. Background in root cause analysis and reliability-focused maintenance practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly productive industrial environment with repetitive tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Franklin, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $82201.00 - $82201.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
