Journeyman Electrician 1st
Shift Pay:
$42-45hr Job Description The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes electrical work, hazard awareness, and strict adherence to safe work practices, particularly around energized equipment and stored energy systems. The position also supports operator development and ensures procedures meet current safety and electrical standards. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, control circuits, and power distribution equipment. Install and maintain electrical panels, wiring, breakers, disconnects, and conduit. Perform lockout/tagout before any work and verify zero energy every time, including mechanical, electrical, and stored energy sources. Identify, isolate, and safely discharge stored energy in systems such as capacitors and spring-loaded components. Read and follow electrical schematics, one-lines, and wiring diagrams. Use meters and test equipment to identify issues and confirm repairs. Maintain awareness of electrical hazards and intervene in unsafe conditions. Adhere to NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA requirements at all times. Train and mentor technical operators on safe electrical practices and basic troubleshooting. Review and revise SOPs as needed to align with NFPA, NEC, and OSHA standards. Complete assigned work without skipping steps or taking shortcuts. Essential Skills Journeyman Electrician License. Minimum 3 years of industrial/manufacturing electrical experience. Strong understanding of power distribution, lockout/tagout, stored energy hazards, NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA requirements. Experience with safely managing stored energy systems in an industrial environment. Ability to work safely around energized equipment. Proficiency in schematic reading and use of voltmeter. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience installing conduit and wiring. Competency in blueprint reading and conduit bending. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is within a battery assembly manufacturing environment, collaborating with a team of 15 electricians and 25 assemblers Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Forney, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
