Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while adhering to all local and national electrical codes. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and low-voltage controls. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts. Perform electrical diagnostics using tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes for safety and quality assurance. Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems, including high-voltage equipment, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial control panels. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring tasks efficiently on construction sites or renovation projects. Follow electrical safety procedures meticulously to prevent accidents or hazards during installation or repairs. Read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately to guide installation processes or troubleshooting efforts in complex systems. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to coordinate work schedules and ensure project deadlines are met. Skills Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, schematics diagrams, and technical drawings with precision. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), high-voltage wiring (up to 600V), low-voltage systems, and control panels. Familiarity with construction site procedures including renovation projects and new installations in various environments. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment at all times. Competence in using hand tools (wire strippers, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, saws) effectively during installation or repair tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues quickly through systematic troubleshooting methods. Knowledge of blueprint reading for electrical layouts; ability to interpret technical schematics accurately. Experience working on industrial electrical systems such as motor controls, transformers, switchgear, and automation equipment. Handyman skills including basic frame carpentry or general maintenance experience are a plus for versatile project support. $35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
