Licensed Journeyman Electrician
Job Description
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass background checks as needed and drug screening.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Typical Work Environment:
Construction sites, marinas, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, commercial buildings, data centers, and residential properties throughout Kentucky. This position may require overtime, emergency response work, and travel between job sites.Responsibilities:
- Install electrical wiring, conduit, panels, switchgear, lighting systems, motors, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions and determine corrective actions.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Test electrical systems using meters, testers, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure installations comply with the Kentucky Building Code, National Electrical Code (NEC), and local regulations.
- Repair or replace defective wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and related components.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and other trades.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and materials used.
- Train and mentor apprentices or less-experienced electricians when assigned.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Medium voltage 13kV terminations
Daily Tasks:
- Review work orders, project plans, and safety requirements.
- Inspect work sites and identify potential hazards.
- Install conduit, wiring, outlets, fixtures, and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing instruments.
- Perform voltage, continuity, resistance, and load testing.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems.
- Communicate project status and findings to supervisors and customers.
- Document completed work and update maintenance logs.
- Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained and organized.
