An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesElectrical Installation
  • Assist in installing electrical systems according to NEC, local codes, and company standards.
  • Install conduit (EMT, PVC, Rigid, and Flexible Conduit).
  • Pull, label, and terminate conductors.
  • Install outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, panels, disconnects, transformers, and electrical equipment.
  • Assist with service upgrades and new electrical construction.
  • Install cable tray and support systems.
  • Perform rough-in and finish electrical work.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems. Commercial & Industrial Work
  • Assist with installation of motor controls and industrial equipment.
  • Install branch circuits and feeder systems.
  • Assist with electrical distribution equipment.
  • Support generator installations and transfer switches.
  • Read and follow electrical blueprints and one-line diagrams. Telecommunications Support
  • Assist with electrical work associated with cellular tower sites.
  • Install grounding and bonding systems.
  • Assist with backup power systems.
  • Install conduit and electrical infrastructure for telecommunications equipment.
  • Support battery cabinet and generator installations. Safety Responsibilities
  • Follow all
OSHA, NFPA
70E, and company safety requirements.
  • Wear required PPE at all times.
  • Participate in daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Practice proper lockout/tagout procedures under supervision. General Responsibilities
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Load and unload materials.
  • Accurately complete daily work reports.
  • Track labor hours using company software.
  • Maintain professional conduct with customers and coworkers.
  • Attend required safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Enrolled in or willing to enroll in a state-approved Electrical Apprenticeship Program.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work daily Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous construction experience.
  • Previous electrical experience.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience operating lifts or skid steers. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely around energized equipment under supervision.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical drawings (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in changing weather conditions. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to:
  • Lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Stand, walk, kneel, crawl, squat, and climb for extended periods.
  • Work at heights using ladders, lifts, and scaffolding.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Perform repetitive bending and lifting.
  • Use hand and power tools throughout the workday.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work Environment Work may be performed in:
