The Town of Franklin seeks a skilled Licensed Electrician to perform electrical maintenance, repair and installation work to support the safe and efficient operation of all town properties. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, and repairing wiring, fixtures, motors, generators, and related equipment using standard tools and testing devices. The position supports electrical renovations and new installations in municipal buildings and grounds, coordinates with other departments, and oversees outside contractors when needed. The Electrician obtains required permits and ensures all work complies with local and state codes, safety regulations, and building requirements. This role also provides technical guidance to staff, responds to emergency situations outside normal work hours, and performs related duties as assigned. This role includes both preventive maintenance and corrective repairs, ensuring compliance with local and state codes. The position also involves coordinating with other departments, supervising contractors or team members when necessary, and utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The selected candidate must have a valid Massachusetts Licensed Journeyman Electrician license and keep up with all continuing education requirements. S/he must also have at least 5 years of commercial, industrial, or building maintenance experience.. The Electrician must be able to perform manual labor, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, climb ladders, and endure repetitive motion. The candidate must pass a criminal background check, including national fingerprinting, and complete a pre-employment physical with a drug screen.
