We are currently seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a motivated electrician with 1-5 years of Journeyman experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship. JMS Electrical, LLC serves the MetroWest and Greater Boston areas. This position requires travel to various residential and commercial job sites throughout the region. Employees typically report directly to assigned job sites or meet with the team as needed. Responsibilities As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment. Interpret and work from electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets company and customer expectations. Operate electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely. Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and fellow team members. Assist with estimating materials and labor requirements as needed. Provide guidance and support to apprentices and other team members when appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Required Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License 1-5 years of Journeyman Electrician experience High school diploma or equivalent Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license with reliable transportation Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in a variety of environments Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Commercial electrical experience Leadership or mentoring experience Experience working directly with customers and contractors Professionalism The ideal candidate will: Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
