Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across residential commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and local electrical codes, including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 and the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovation and construction sites to complex industrial electrical systems, utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprint reading, and high-voltage wiring. Your proactive approach will contribute to safe, efficient, and reliable electrical operations. Duties Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in residential commercial and industrial environments using hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as voltmeters and ohmmeters, and diagnostic equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely in accordance with NFPA 70 standards and local electrical codes. Conduct diagnostics on complex electrical systems to identify faults or inefficiencies using troubleshooting techniques and specialized testing devices. Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems integral to industrial automation processes. Ensure all work complies with electrical safety procedures, including proper grounding, circuit protection, and lockout/tagout protocols. Collaborate with construction teams during renovation or new build projects to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into structural frameworks such as frame carpentry or general construction work. Skills Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standard for electrical safety) and NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance requirements. Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other testing devices. Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints accurately. Experience working with high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical wiring in various settings including construction sites or renovation projects. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems such as motor controls, PLCs, transformers, circuit breakers, and control panels. Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Capable of handling power tools safely while performing installation or repair tasks efficiently. Hands-on experience with construction site work including framing carpentry or handyman tasks related to electrical installations. $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
