If you like finishing a job cleanly, working without a big-company bureaucracy, and being known by name, this is that kind of shop. About A-1 A-1 has served commercial customers for about 60 years from our base in Revere, MA. We work with universities, hospitals, property managers, and national retail chains across Massachusetts and the broader New England. Our work covers commercial lighting service, LED retrofits, electrical panel upgrades, and EV charger installation and maintenance. About the Role You will work on our service and project crews, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial electrical and lighting systems, mostly at occupied facilities where quality, safety, and communication matter. We want you trusted to run a job or a small crew on your own and to be a go-to person for lighting controls and retrofit work. What You'll Do Install, modify, and repair commercial lighting, fixtures, and lighting controls, including LED retrofits and re-lamping projects Perform panel upgrades, feeder and branch circuit work, and general commercial power installations to NEC and Massachusetts code Diagnose and fix electrical faults on service calls, and explain the fix clearly to the customer on site Install and help maintain EV charging equipment, with training provided if you are new to it Read plans, one-lines, and work orders, and record materials and time accurately for each job Follow safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, and mentor apprentices and helpers on the crew Leave every site clean, documented, and ready for the customer to sign off What We're Looking For Required Current Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license, in good standing Completed electrical apprenticeship, with at least 3 years of commercial electrical experience Working knowledge of the NEC and Massachusetts electrical code Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; A-1 provides the work vehicle Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and lifts, and work in ceilings and tight spaces Reliable, on time, and comfortable talking with customers and building staff Preferred Experience with commercial lighting, LED retrofits, or lighting controls Experience with EV charger installation OSHA 10 or 30 card, and lift or first aid certifications Experience working in occupied hospitals, campuses, or retail stores
Pay:
Up to $55.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
