SC Electric Corp is seeking a skilled, independent professional who loves the challenge of upgrading and modernizing existing homes and small commercial spaces throughout the South Shore and Greater Boston area. We specialize in quality electrical upgrades for residential properties and light commercial buildings — from service upgrades and rewires to smart home integrations and tenant fit-outs. If you're confident working in existing structures, solving problems efficiently, and delivering clean, code-compliant results, this is your opportunity to join a company that gives you real autonomy and the tools to succeed.
What You'll Do:
Perform residential old work including rewires, panel upgrades, circuit additions, and troubleshooting in existing homes. Handle light commercial work such as tenant improvements, retail fit-outs, office electrical upgrades, and small business installations. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently, often in occupied homes and active commercial spaces with minimal disruption. Work independently on job sites while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and craftsmanship. Ensure every job complies with the Massachusetts Electrical Code and local requirements. Mentor and train apprentices, passing on your expertise in old work techniques and best practices. Use our company-supplied iPad and CRM software to manage service calls, update job notes, track materials, and communicate seamlessly with the team.
What We're Looking For:
Active Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license (required). Strong experience in residential old work (rewires, service upgrades, circuit additions) and light commercial electrical projects. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in real-world environments. Ability to work independently and take full ownership of your jobs from start to finish. Pride in producing neat, professional work. Experience training or mentoring apprentices is highly valued. Comfortable using digital tools and tablets for job management.
Why Electricians Love Working Here:
Competitive hourly wage based on experience and performance. Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k). Company vehicle, fuel card, and modern tools provided. Year-round work with a great mix of interesting residential old work and light commercial projects. Autonomy — we trust our Journeymen to get the job done right. Supportive environment with opportunities to grow and lead apprentices. State-of-the-art iPad + CRM system that makes paperwork and scheduling easier. If you're a hands-on Journeyman who takes pride in residential old work, enjoys variety between residential and light commercial jobs, and wants to work for a company that respects your skills and independence, we'd love to talk to you.
