Talent Source is hiring experienced Marine Electricians! We have an exciting temp-to-permanent opportunity for skilled Marine Electricians to support berthing barge, messing, maintenance, and repair operations. This position supports work aboard U.S. Navy vessels and associated shipyard facilities and is a great opportunity for electricians with Navy ship repair, shipyard, or industrial marine experience who are looking for long-term career potential. What We're Looking For Minimum 4 years of electrical experience Previous messing and berthing barge experience strongly preferred Experience with industrial or U.S. Navy ship repair activities Familiarity with Navy ship layouts, equipment, control plates, placards, markings, and symbols Understanding of shipboard electrical power and related systems Knowledge of shipboard heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, isolation procedures, hot work, confined-space work, and fire-watch requirements Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, repair standards, policies, and specifications Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently when required What You'll Be Doing As a Marine Electrician, you will perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair work aboard Navy vessels and related facilities.
Responsibilities may include:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and systems Working with generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other electrical equipment Reading and working from blueprints, drawings, schematics, layouts, technical orders, and manufacturer specifications Troubleshooting electrical systems and locating equipment malfunctions Determining the correct parts, materials, and repair methods needed to complete installations and repairs Performing electrical calculations related to wiring and equipment load requirements Using electrical hand tools, measuring devices, and testing instruments Operating electronic diagnostic and test equipment Assisting with troubleshooting and testing electronic components, assemblies, and circuit boards when required Identifying inconsistencies between technical requirements, test specifications, and diagnostic procedures Responding to urgent service calls outside normal working hours when required by the contract Supporting additional shipboard and facility maintenance duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Active Security Clearance required Valid driver's license Ability to successfully complete a government background check and obtain required base access credentials Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 lbs. or more Ability to climb and work from ladders Comfortable working aboard ships, in shipyards, industrial environments, and confined spaces Ability to work in environments involving heat, humidity, noise, and physically demanding conditions Ability to work aloft or over the sides of vessels when required Ability to safely navigate narrow passageways, ladders, stairs, and confined spaces Build Your Next Career with Talent Source If you have strong marine electrical experience and want the opportunity to turn your next assignment into a long-term position, we want to hear from you.
