In person / Various residential job sites Job Description Killer Electric is looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our growing residential electrical team serving Ann Arbor and the greater Detroit area . We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is comfortable troubleshooting and completing electrical work in both existing homes and residential renovation projects. Our work ranges from service calls and troubleshooting to remodels, panel upgrades, EV chargers, lighting, generators, and complete residential electrical installations. Responsibilities Perform residential electrical installations, repairs, and troubleshooting. Diagnose electrical problems using meters and other testing equipment. Install and replace panels, breakers, circuits, receptacles, switches, lighting, and other electrical equipment. Perform electrical work for kitchens, bathrooms, additions, renovations, and whole-home projects. Install dedicated circuits, EV chargers, generators, and other residential equipment. Read plans, electrical diagrams, and project specifications. Ensure installations comply with the NEC and applicable local electrical codes. Work independently and make sound field decisions when troubleshooting or completing installations. Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites. Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and project managers. Coordinate with other trades to keep projects moving and completed on schedule. Qualifications Michigan Journeyman Electrician license preferred/required for journeyman position. Strong residential electrical experience. Ability to independently troubleshoot and complete residential electrical work. Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and residential wiring practices. Experience with service upgrades, panels, remodeling, troubleshooting, and new circuits. Comfortable using multimeters, circuit tracers, and other electrical diagnostic equipment. Ability to read blueprints and electrical plans. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Own basic electrician hand tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Professional and respectful when working inside customers' homes. Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger project team. Experience with EV chargers, standby generators, smart-home systems, service upgrades, and residential renovation work is a plus.
