What You'll Do As an Apprentice Electrician, you'll work alongside experienced electricians to maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems and equipment while building your technical knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities include:
Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics Assist with testing and installing single-phase and three-phase motors and motor starters Support maintenance and troubleshooting of Motor Control Centers (MCCs) Assist with PLC troubleshooting and support Install, replace, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and controls Access work orders, maintenance documents, prints, and technical drawings Update and document completed maintenance activities Assist with troubleshooting high-voltage switchgear and electrical distribution systems Replace defective electrical components including solenoids, armature brushes, transformers, and lighting fixtures Promote a safe work environment and support environmental initiatives Participate in preventative and predictive maintenance programs Work independently and with maintenance team members as skills develop What We're Looking For At a minimum, applicants must be a current Electrician Apprentice or recent electrical trade school graduate, preference to candidates with Industrial Electrical Experience Basic understanding of electrical systems, motors, controls, and troubleshooting Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, agricultural, or maintenance experience is helpful Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment Exposure to PLCs, motor controls, and industrial electrical systems Strong troubleshooting skills and desire to build a long-term career in industrial maintenance
