Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to add to our growing team in West Michigan.

This electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage electrical systems and control wiring. This encompasses systems such as HVAC controls, building automation, security, fire alarms, access control, and other related infrastructure. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems, and safety protocols. This position demands a Journeyman card, the ability to drive a company vehicle, and customer-facing skills.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage electrical systems and control wiring.

+ Work on systems such as HVAC controls, building automation, security, fire alarms, and access control.

+ Read and understand mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.

+ Manage projects and supervise 1-5 employees.

+ Communicate effectively with partners and other contractors on construction sites.

+ Visit 2-3 sites a week for work, with occasional office days to prepare or close out the week.

  • Essential Skills
  • + 3-5 years of experience with temperature controls (HVAC equipment), electrical controls (low voltage, outlets, lights, fire alarms, and security systems), and gas controls (gas systems).

+ Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.

+ Valid Journeyman Electrician License with the State of Michigan.

+ Ability to operate scissor lifts.

+ Computer skills.

+ Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Journeyman or Master Electrician certification. + Project leadership experience. + N4 Certification is a plus. + Comfortable working at heights and on rooftops.

  • Work Environment
  • The work environment includes a guaranteed 40-hour work week with shifts from 7 am to 4 pm.

Personal protective equipment such as Hi-Vis Vest, Hard Hat, and Glasses are provided, while Steel Toed Boots and Jeans or Cargo Pants (no holes) are required. The company operates in various locations, primarily within the Grand Rapids area, with occasional projects up to 2 hours away. Rarely requires overnight work, allowing employees to be home every day. The company works with systems from Trane, Johnson Controls, and Honeywell, and conducts projects in schools, churches, universities, and industrial facilities.   • The pay range for this position is $60000.

00 - $80000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
