An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
The Press Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all electrical, electromechanical, and electronic systems across stamping presses. This role ensures maximum equipment availability, safety compliance, and continuous production in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Press & Stamping Systems:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain large presses, including press automation, transfer systems, coil lines, un-coilers, and straighteners - Across multiple platforms/generations of equipment. Diagnose and reprogram PLCs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo drives to maintain smooth production flow Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on machine/equipment Maintain strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash safety standards (NFPA 70E), machine guarding, and
OSHA/OHSA
regulations. Provide support in supplying quality parts for customers Work on problem solving teams Work with Production Engineering Work with Quality Assurance Work with Production Perform systematic troubleshooting on complex electrical faults (circuitry, sensors, safety relays, interlocks, and industrial networks
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or
GED 3 - 5
years' manufacturing experience with full range of operations, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and machine maintenance Experienced in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical principle, systems, troubleshooting and repair: robotics, PLC and assisted automation, mechanical handling systems, and understands ladder logic. Direct experience working with mechanical/hydraulic press controls, press safety blocks, light curtains, die protection sensors, and automation feeders. Ability to read and interpret complex industrial electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
