Night Shift Maintenance Technician (Level 1) Job Description This role is a full-time night shift Maintenance Technician position in a manufacturing environment, responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. You will work 12-hour shifts on a 4 days on / 4 days off schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., supporting continuous production operations and ensuring equipment reliability and safety. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on manufacturing equipment such as roll converters, extrusion lines, automated assembly lines, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Maintain and repair a wide range of manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime and support efficient production. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment life. Install equipment and electrical components, including wiring and controls, and test systems to confirm proper functioning. Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned maintenance tasks. Diagnose and resolve issues involving industrial controls, including 480V systems and PLC-related troubleshooting. Maintain the facility and associated equipment, addressing both routine and corrective maintenance needs. Work collaboratively with maintenance vendors and service providers to coordinate repairs and parts replacement. Complete and submit company purchase requisitions for tools, parts, and materials needed for maintenance work. Keep the work area clean, organized, and in orderly condition to support safety and efficiency. Ensure all machinery and equipment comply with federal, state, and company safety standards. Read and interpret instructions, operations manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings to perform maintenance and fabrication tasks. Support machine installation, setup, and alignment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic connections. Participate in machine maintenance for CNC and other automated equipment, including troubleshooting and repair. Work both independently and as part of a team to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet maintenance deadlines. Adhere to all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture within the manufacturing environment. Be available to work overtime when required to support production schedules and urgent maintenance needs. Essential Skills Minimum 35 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair in an industrial setting. Strong electrical skills, including work with 480V systems and electrical troubleshooting. Experience with industrial controls and PLC troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret instructions, operations manuals, and follow step-by-step procedures. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and apply them to maintenance and fabrication tasks. Mechanically inclined and able to perform physical labor, including lifting and operating machinery. Experience with preventive maintenance, machine repair, and machine installation in a production environment. Proficiency with hand and power tools used for mechanical and electrical maintenance. Demonstrated excellent safety record and consistent attendance. Ability to work overtime when required to support operational needs. Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple maintenance activities. High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in an industrial plant maintenance role, particularly with extrusion lines and automated assembly equipment. Experience in electrical maintenance and mechanical-electrical troubleshooting. Experience with CNC machine maintenance and repair. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance. Fabrication experience, including working from blueprints to modify or create components. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
