Electrician Job Description:
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This includes reading blueprints, running conduit, wiring panels and devices, and ensuring all work meets code requirements. The electrician will work independently or with a team to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Run conduit, pull wire, and connect circuits in accordance with local electrical codes. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in a variety of systems and equipment. Install electrical panels, lighting systems, outlets, switches, and other devices. Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations. Use electrical testing devices to verify system performance and safety. Maintain a clean and organized job site, securing tools and materials daily. Collaborate with other trades and project managers to meet job deadlines. Document work completed and report progress or issues to supervisors.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of electrical experience in construction or maintenance. Familiarity with electrical tools, equipment, and materials. Ability to read and follow electrical blueprints and technical documents. Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes. Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces. Capable of lifting and carrying tools and materials as required. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
