We are hiring an experienced electrician for a T2 Journeyman role: hands-on field installation work, running conduit and cable, building and wiring panels, and supporting startup and checkout. You will work alongside T1 electricians, may lead portions of a project, and report to project managers. T2 Industrial Journeyman Electrician Pay $40.00+ per hour, depending on experience Job type Full-time, hourly (W-2) Schedule Assigned shift; overtime available Experience 8,000 field hours minimum (approx. 4 years); 5+ years preferred Location Columbia, Missouri — local customer sites Reports to Project Managers Travel Primarily local day trips; occasional overnight travel with per diem Why Work at Pertech Mostly local work — day trips to customer sites, home most nights. Some projects call for overnight or extended travel, but it is the exception rather than the routine, and per diem is provided.

power distribution, controls, panel fabrication, and commissioning Company-supported training Primary Responsibilities Lay out industrial electrical installations from drawings, schematics, specifications, and field conditions. Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit; install basket tray, cable tray, and Unistrut support systems. Pull, route, label, terminate, and test power, control, and data cabling to schematics and company standards. Assemble and wire electrical control panels, power panels, enclosures, and breaker panels. Complete three-phase and single-phase installations; verify work with meters and approved diagnostic equipment. Support installation startups, control-panel power-up, checkout, and quality-control testing under authorized procedures. Review schedules, plan daily work, identify material needs, and order project materials when assigned. Provide crew leadership and task-level supervision; coordinate safely with customers, other trades, and Pertech team members. Document completed work and communicate field conditions, discrepancies, and project status to the project managers. Follow all Pertech policies and electrical-safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and arc-flash requirements. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED, and at least 8,000 hours (approximately four years) of electrical field experience, including substantial industrial installation work. Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, panel layouts, installation drawings, and equipment documentation. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the ability to apply company and site-specific requirements. Proficiency with common electrical and construction tools, including drills, reciprocating saws, grinders, band saws, and pipe threaders. Ability to troubleshoot installation issues, make accurate measurements and calculations, and complete work independently at customer sites. Clear oral and written communication skills and the ability to work productively in a team environment. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; Missouri Class E license, or the ability to obtain one, if required for assigned work. Preferred Qualifications Five or more years of industrial electrical installation experience, and a journeyman license or certification where required by the applicable jurisdiction. Experience with industrial controls, power distribution, panel fabrication, equipment startup, and field commissioning. Prior crew-lead, material-planning, or customer-site coordination experience. Current OSHA 10 or
OSHA 30, NFPA
70E, first aid/CPR, or aerial-lift and forklift certifications. Physical and Work Requirements The following are essential functions of the role and can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and remain standing or walking for most of the shift. Climb, bend, kneel, reach, and work at heights above 20 feet while using required fall-protection equipment. Safely operate man lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, skid loaders, and similar equipment after required training and authorization. Work in active industrial environments with variable temperatures, noise, and dust, using required personal protective equipment. Work overtime when needed and travel to customer locations for field installations — primarily local, with occasional overnight or extended travel depending on the project. Compensation and Benefits $40.00+ per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skill. Overtime paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
