Job Description

Chappell Electric is a family-owned and operated electrical contractor in Kansas City, MO. Founded in 2011, Chappell Electric's overall mission is to exceed above expectations and ensure every customer is satisfied. As an employee of Chappell Electric, you will be joining a team of hardworking individuals who have passion for a good job done. As a member of the Chappell Electric Field Team, you will be leading a team on working at our residential and/or commercial job sites installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical set ups. You will read blueprints and plans to assist in project completion. You will also maintain, educate on, and foster a safe environment by following safety procedures. Position Responsibilities and Skills Manage and coordinate on-site team of journeyman and apprentices Read blueprints and plans to form project plans for project completion Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system, and to ensure compatibility Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation, and steps take to resolve issues for each job or situation Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wirring, and/or devices Determine the steps necessary to asses an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints, and plans Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and through reporting violations of policies, procedures, and guidelines Use ladders, scaffolding, platform, and lifts to work on electrical systems in residential properties, on roadside poles, and/or on commercial properties Handle emergency calls quickly and safely Maintain equipment to ensure it is in good condition and can operated safely Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds Must be able to do frequent activity and movements such as: standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, pulling, and balancing May be exposed to extreme weather and environmental conditions (hot or cold) Must be able to follow all OSHA safety requirements and have proof of an OSHA 10 certification/card Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent Journeyman license Four years of electrical experience (residential and commercial) Valid driver's license Able to pass a background check and drug screening
