An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

Job Description Maintain and/or install electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and electronically controlled systems in the plant. Job Duties Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them, and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor. Install and Maintain conduit and wiring, switchgear and motor control centers, PLC equipment, scales, electronic process equipment, field electrical devices (switches, lighting, level, and pressure controls, etc.) Education Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
Preferred:
One year certificate from college or technical school; and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
