Job Title:
Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician Position Summary The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instrumentation and control systems within the facility. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, maximizing production efficiency, and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities Inspect, test, adjust, calibrate, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used for indicating and recording operations Inspect meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations and ensure proper operation Maintain functional knowledge of plant operations software and hardware systems Perform preventative maintenance inspections on all control instrumentation Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical failures and effectively resolve issues Complete work order cycles including performing work, confirming labor time, and documenting equipment history in CMMS Diagnose existing or potential issues with plant electrical equipment Clean, lubricate, calibrate, and adjust equipment as necessary Lay out, install, and commission electrical equipment into service Maintain housekeeping standards; keep assigned work areas clean and free of safety hazards Support multi-craft maintenance activities as needed Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision Maintain and adjust equipment to maximize production efficiency and reduce downtime Promote and adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and best practices Perform and coordinate good housekeeping throughout the facility Work Environment This position operates in an industrial plant environment and may require exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical demands. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times. Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Technical degree or certification in Electrical/Instrumentation or related field preferred Minimum of 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Experience with Computerized Management Systems (CMMS) Hands-on experience with: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Servo systems Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Professional attitude with strong communication skills Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment
