Job Description

Overview Big Sky Resort is looking for dedicated and driven lift maintenance mechanics or electricians. As a member of the Lift Maintenance Department, you'll be the hero behind the scenes, ensuring a smooth and safe ride for skiers and snowboarders on all types of lifts - from high-speed chairs to cozy gondolas. Your duties include performing regular maintenance checks, troubleshooting technical issues, and repairing malfunctions to keep the lifts running flawlessly. You'll work outdoors in all weather conditions, so a love for the mountains and a knack for problem-solving are essential. A combination of mechanical and electrical skills, along with a meticulous attention to detail, will be your greatest assets in this rewarding role. Responsibilities Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, use ladders and work at variable heights (15-80 ft above ground). Lift up to 60 lbs unassisted Prepare and safety check lifts for daily operation before Lift Operations arrive. Should be able to complete lift start-up procedures independently Ability to think critically and pay attention to detail. Understand maintenance recommendations of all ski lift manufactures by interpreting diagrams and manufactures' manuals. Understand and follow all ANSI, State, and Federal Regulations Use of considerable judgment to determine actions to be taken Willing and able to participate in all maintenance needs. Maintain a positive attitude consistently, including during high stress situations. Able to work concurrently with all Resort staff and encourage a productive work environment. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Minimum of 2 years experience in ski lift maintenance Vocational Degree in welding, electrical, vehicle, or machine shop technology is a plus Non-Destructive Testing Certified Previous operation of heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, or farm equipment Ability to ski or snowboard Valid Driver's License is required Basic tool set is required Be a part of our full-time year round team and enjoy these great benefits!
