$37.00-$40.00/hour Job Summary Seeking a CNC Machine Repair Technician IV to join its Facilities - Operations and Maintenance team in Durham, NC. This is a subject matter expert-level position responsible for installing, troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining, and documenting the electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems associated with automated manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial machinery maintenance experience and advanced troubleshooting skills. This role will also provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to less-experienced technicians while working closely with site management, Facilities Engineers, vendors, and customers. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair specialized mechanical, electrical, electronic, and CNC equipment. Maintain and repair machine tools and automated manufacturing equipment. Perform alignment and leveling of CNC machinery to ensure optimal equipment performance. Work with AC/DC control voltages ranging from 12-24V through medium-voltage motor controls and 480V, 3-phase systems . Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Read and interpret electrical/electronic and mechanical schematics. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of AC/DC motor controls. Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems as they relate to electronic controls. Perform instrumentation and equipment calibration to optimize equipment performance. Conduct independent root-cause evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Identify and correct operational and safety-related equipment issues. Support installation, relocation, and rearrangement of production equipment. Collaborate with Facilities Engineers and external vendors to resolve complex technical problems. Provide detailed repair updates to ensure effective shift-to-shift communication. Recommend equipment upgrades, retrofits, and maintenance improvements. Develop and modify site operating procedures and recommend facility reliability improvements. Respond to work orders and provide timely service and feedback to customers. Identify and report potential cost-saving opportunities. Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity. Provide technical instruction, mentoring, and training to less-skilled technicians. Lead complex technical work using a variety of tools, resources, computers, and diagnostic equipment. Follow all company, customer, industry, and regulatory safety requirements. Perform Job Hazard Analysis and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Wear and properly use all required PPE. Demonstrate flexibility and urgency when responding to changing business needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechatronics , or a related technical field; OR Minimum 5 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience with strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment. Ability to read and understand electrical/electronic and mechanical schematics. Strong knowledge of AC/DC motor controls. Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, electronic, and controls-related problems. Valid Driver's License. Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client's facility. Ability and willingness to work in a tobacco-free environment. Ability to wear required PPE with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications CNC machine repair experience. Experience with CNC grinders or other precision machine tools.
