Job Description

Job Summary :
Must possess positive people skills and a can do attitude. Must be willing to work flexible hours and/or shifts to accommodate the needs of the hospital; on call schedule and weekend work schedule. Plan and perform a wide variety of electrical maintenance and installation of all types of equipment and perform any other departmental maintenance work as assigned by your supervisor. Keep current logs of all generator tests, fire protection systems and all other related test documentation as required by regulatory agencies. Troubleshoot, and maintain all electrical systems within GMH, and affiliates as required. Ability to read schematics and electrical drawings. Order material as needed to complete work. Perform any assigned PM duties and other responsibilities as required. Work with other trades as necessary to meet workload and schedules. Qualify for on call, weekend and off shift work. Keep assigned areas clean and neat in appearance.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalent. At least four years of specialized training as an electrician. At least two additional years of electrical experience in a hospital or industrial setting preferred. Be familiar with electrical codes, installation methods, motors, and motor driven equipment. Motor control wiring and troubleshooting. Must be able to read and understand prints, schematics and other technical drawings as required to perform your duties. Capable of bending and installing EMT and Rigid conduit. Capable of lifting fifty pound weight, and physically able to do the job. Have a valid North Carolina Driver's License with no restrictions other than prescription eyeglasses or contacts. Must be capable of climbing of any ladder(s) or scaffolding necessary to perform assigned duties. Must be capable of recognizing wiring color codes. Basic PC skills using Windows 95, 98, and NT preferred. Electrical license preferred. EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability
