Job Description
Foss Recycling Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to support the electrical systems and equipment at our recycling facilities. This position will be based in La Grange, NC and will also provide support to other Foss Recycling locations, including Raleigh, NC, as needed. The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with 480V three-phase systems, motor controls, PLCs, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position for an electrician who can safely diagnose electrical problems, minimize equipment downtime, and help keep our facilities operating efficiently. Essential Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment. Diagnose electrical problems involving 480V three-phase power, motors, motor controls, control circuits, and related equipment . Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on plant and production equipment. Troubleshoot electrical breakdowns and respond to equipment-related service calls. Install and repair electrical panels, wiring, controls, conduit, and related components. Troubleshoot and work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Use multimeters, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues. Perform low-voltage and control wiring as required. Assist with electrical upgrades, equipment installations, renovations, and facility improvement projects. Ensure electrical work is completed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, installations, inspections, and changes to electrical systems. Coordinate with maintenance, operations, contractors, and other team members when completing electrical projects. Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Travel to other Foss Recycling facilities as needed to perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician or in a similar industrial electrical maintenance role. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 480V three-phase power and motor controls . Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and production or industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams. Experience with PLC troubleshooting is strongly preferred. Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems. Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical safety practices. Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, recycling, construction, or other heavy-equipment environments is preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a fast-paced operating environment. Valid driver's license required. Ability and willingness to travel between Foss Recycling locations as needed. Work Environment This position works primarily in an industrial recycling environment and may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, heavy equipment, and active machinery. The employee must be comfortable working around industrial equipment and following established safety procedures at all times. #frhire
