Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as an Electrician and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of fire alarm systems across diverse industrial and commercial environments. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of fire alarm projects, from installation and maintenance to troubleshooting complex systems. Whether you're involved in new construction, renovation, or ongoing maintenance, your expertise will help keep operations running smoothly and safely. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain industrial and commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with local codes and NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) as well as NFPA 72 compliance. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute projects. Troubleshoot electrical and fire alarm systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters to identify faults efficiently. Perform high-voltage wiring tasks safely on industrial equipment, ensuring all work complies with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Conduct routine inspections of electrical wiring, systems, and components to identify potential issues before they escalate. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations, repairs, and upgrades on construction sites or renovation projects. Follow strict electrical safety procedures to protect yourself and others while working with low voltage and high voltage systems. Collaborate with our team to ensure timely completion of work within project specifications. Maintain detailed records of all work performed, including inspection reports, troubleshooting logs, and compliance documentation. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on industrial or commercial fire alarm systems. Strong knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical blueprints with precision. Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical wiring, low voltage systems, and fire alarm systems. Proficiency using hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; and testing instruments like ohmmeters. Construction site experience with the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments while maintaining safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in all aspects of electrical work. Valid electrician license or certification as required by local jurisdiction; additional certifications in high-voltage work or schematics reading are a plus. Massachusetts low voltage fire alarm license preferred. This position requires you to be on call with a rotation of every 3-4 weeks. This is an hourly position with differing hours to meet the needs of our customers.
