Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across residential and commercial environments. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment, adhering strictly to safety standards and local electrical codes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex electrical projects, including high-voltage wiring, residential electrical systems, and renovation initiatives. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair industrial and commercial electrical systems in compliance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and NEC (National Electrical Code). Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment; troubleshoot electrical systems efficiently to minimize downtime. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately perform wiring and system installations. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects, ensuring all work meets local electrical codes. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems, identify potential hazards or failures, and implement corrective actions following electrical safety procedures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete wiring, installation, or repair tasks with precision. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless execution of electrical work on construction or renovation sites. Skills Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems. Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance standards and local electrical codes. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and blueprint reading skills essential for accurate installation and troubleshooting. Skilled in diagnosing complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters; adept at troubleshooting electrical systems efficiently. Experience working with industrial electrical systems including low voltage controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high-voltage wiring. Ability to perform electrical wiring tasks safely on construction sites or during renovation projects while adhering to all safety procedures. Familiarity with construction site practices including framing carpentry and handyman skills that support comprehensive project execution.
