Job Description

The Ocean County Utilities Authority, a public wastewater treatment facility consisting of three treatment plants and 40 pumping stations, is presently seeking an experienced Electrician for its Central Water Pollution Control Facility located in Bayville, New Jersey. The Electrician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all Authority electrical machinery and equipment. This includes emergency generators, transformers, distribution system, lightning protection, electronic equipment, motors, etc. The candidate must have completed an accredited Electrical training program with at least four (4) years of journeyworker level experience, three (3) of which must include performing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of large industrial electrical equipment, transformers, motor control centers, distribution systems, and other electrical devices similar to those used in wastewater treatment facilities. Basic knowledge of electronic control devices, such as variable frequency drives, is preferred. Must hold a Certificate of Registration to Practice as a Qualified Journeyman Electrician issued by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors. Must be available for emergencies on a 24-hour basis and be able to perform tasks using a self-contained breathing apparatus or respirator. The Authority offers a competitive salary of $77,230.40.
