Duties Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, and fixtures in residential properties following local electrical codes and NFPA 70 standards. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts. Troubleshoot electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters to identify faults and implement effective solutions. Perform maintenance on existing electrical systems, including upgrades and renovations to improve safety and functionality. Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety procedures related to electrical safety protocols. Utilize hand tools, power tools, high-voltage wiring techniques, and low-voltage systems to complete installations efficiently. Collaborate with construction teams on site preparation, framing carpentry, and other related tasks as needed for seamless project completion. Skills Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in residential electrical work. Extensive knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems, including low voltage applications. Skilled in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and blueprints reading for accurate installation. Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) compliance requirements. Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Experience working on renovation projects or construction sites with a focus on electrical system upgrades. Strong understanding of local electrical codes, NEC regulations, and safety procedures to ensure compliant work practices. Capable of handling high-voltage wiring tasks safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Handyman skills including frame carpentry or general construction experience are a plus for versatile project support.
