Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Solar Service Electrician and play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting photovoltaic (solar) energy systems. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of solar power installations. You will be responsible for diagnosing electrical issues, performing repairs, and conducting system upgrades on commercial and industrial solar sites. Responsibilities Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on photovoltaic systems, including high voltage and low voltage components. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues and plan repairs. Troubleshoot solar inverters Solar Edge, Enphase etc. Perform MSP upgrades Install, maintain, and repair photovoltaic systems on rooftops and ground-mounted sites following NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) compliance standards. Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and safety equipment to safely execute electrical work on construction sites and existing solar installations. Conduct fixture installation, wiring modifications, system upgrades, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to optimize performance. Adhere to electrical safety procedures and NFPA 70 standards during all phases of installation and maintenance activities. Collaborate with construction teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components with roofing or structural elements while maintaining OSHA standards for outdoor work environments. Skills Extensive experience working with high voltage and low voltage electrical systems within photovoltaic or renewable energy projects. Proficiency in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams for accurate system installation and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements, NFPA 70 compliance standards, and electrical safety procedures. Hands-on experience as a commercial electrician with construction site exposure; roofing experience is a plus. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other construction equipment safely and effectively. Ability to diagnose complex electrical issues through system diagnostics and troubleshooting techniques. Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions on onshore renewable energy projects involving photovoltaic systems installation or maintenance.
