Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled, safety-conscious and experienced Industrial/Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical Division. The successful candidate will perform electrical installation, maintenance, and commissioning work on commercial and industrial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on water and wastewater treatment facilities. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging infrastructure projects involving power distribution, motor control systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation while collaborating with a highly skilled team committed to quality, safety, and craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
  • Install rigid galvanized steel conduit and PVC-coated conduit ranging from ¾" through 4".
  • Perform cable installations and wire pulls up to 750 kcmil.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot electrical systems operating at 120V, 480V, and medium voltages up to 4,160V.
  • Install, connect, and commission:
  • Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
  • Switchgear
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Transformers
  • Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
  • Assist with industrial control systems, instrumentation, and PLC-related installations and commissioning as required.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, control schematics, and project specifications.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain strict compliance with OSHA regulations, electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and fellow electricians to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Qualifications Required
  • Valid New Jersey Journeyman Electrician License or the ability to possess and maintain the required New Jersey electrical license.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience installing electrical distribution systems, motor control equipment, and industrial power systems.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver's License with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in industrial environments. Preferred
  • Experience working in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Experience with industrial controls, instrumentation, and PLC systems.
  • Medium-voltage installation and termination experience.
  • OSHA Certification. Benefits
