Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial and industrial settings. Your expertise will ensure that electrical work complies with all safety standards, local electrical codes, and industry regulations. Responsibilities Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments using hand tools and power tools. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to accurately execute projects. Perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults within complex electrical circuits and systems. Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), and local electrical codes. Conduct high-voltage electrical wiring installations safely while following all electrical safety procedures. Diagnose issues using testing equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters; perform necessary repairs or replacements efficiently. Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople during construction or renovation projects to ensure timely completion of electrical tasks. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records. Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment on construction sites or maintenance locations. Assist with reading electrical blueprints and schematics for new installations or upgrades involving industrial or commercial electrical systems. Requirements Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification demonstrating completion of an approved apprenticeship program. Proven experience working as an electrician in industrial settings with knowledge of industrial electrical systems and high-voltage wiring. Strong background in commercial electrician work including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial electrical systems. Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures related to electrical work. Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics for various electrical projects. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and control wiring is highly desirable. Ability to use hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; testing equipment like voltmeters and ohmmeters effectively. Construction site experience with renovation projects or new builds is preferred; handyman or frame carpentry skills are a plus for versatile project support. Strong troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose issues within complex industrial or commercial electrical systems. Knowledge of high-voltage safety practices along with the ability to perform high-voltage wiring safely. Pay:
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 60.0 per week
