Temp to Hire Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. This position works on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, including large production and process facilities such as batch plants, dewatering systems, conveying systems, milling/crushing operations, oxygen plants, and wastewater treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical experience with motors, PLCs, instrumentation, VFDs, generators, and power distribution systems. We are looking for motivated professionals who take pride in their work, lead by example, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Responsibilities Perform electrical installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems to ensure continuous operation of machinery and equipment. Install, splice, and terminate high-voltage cables and transformer connections. Install and test fiber optic cable systems. Perform PLC troubleshooting, loop checks, and instrumentation interface testing. Test, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems. Conduct substation inspections, maintenance, and operational checks. Troubleshoot, maintain, and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Perform motor and circuit calculations. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain generators and backup power systems. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings. Install conduit systems, MC cable, transformers, tap cans, and commercial electrical services. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in commercial and industrial environments. Work collaboratively with general contractors, customers, and other trades. Lead, mentor, and train apprentices and fellow electricians. Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Journeyman Electrician License required. Strong experience in commercial and industrial electrical environments. Advanced knowledge of: PLCs and industrial control systems Instrumentation and controls Motor controls and motor starters Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting Commercial wiring methods Conduit installation and cable management systems Large commercial electrical services, transformers, and power distribution equipment Experience with generators, substations, and UPS systems preferred. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to distinguish colors, maintain close vision, and adjust focus as needed.
