In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential settings, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will help homeowners enjoy safe, efficient, and reliable electrical solutions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from minor repairs to complex electrical upgrades, all while adhering to industry standards and safety procedures. Duties Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems in residential properties using hand tools, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and power tools. Install, repair, and upgrade electrical wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and high-voltage electrical systems following local electrical codes and the NEC (National Electrical Code). Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute installations and repairs. Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 standards and electrical safety procedures to protect both yourself and clients. Conduct inspections of electrical systems during renovation projects or new construction to ensure proper function and code compliance. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) where applicable for industrial or specialized residential systems. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records. Skills Proven experience as an electrician with a focus on residential service work; industrial or commercial electrician experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of local electrical codes, NFPA 70 standards, NEC regulations, and blueprint reading. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems across a variety of settings using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints accurately for installation or repair projects. Experience working with low voltage systems, high-voltage wiring, and industrial electrical systems when needed. Familiarity with high-voltage electrical wiring procedures for specialized residential or industrial applications. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction site safety practices; handyman experience is advantageous. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures to prevent hazards during installation or repair activities. Ability to work independently or as part of a team on renovation projects or new construction sites involving frame carpentry or general handyman tasks.
