General Objectives:
Reporting to the Process Electrical Supervisor, the Process Electrician typically works 4-ten hour shifts 6am to 4pm Mon-Thur. The Electrician assists with maintaining equipment and ensures all backlog work is completed in a timely manner to avoid major equipment downtime through planned maintenance scheduling. Planned maintenance includes monitoring equipment; communicating equipment needs and issues and; providing both tactical and strategic support for the Process Department to operate in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
Key Areas of Responsibilities & Duties:
The key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Performs work area housekeeping duties. Use voltmeters, ammeters, and related testing apparatus to test defective equipment Lead by example, in all of Marigold's safety processes, ensuring safe practices are utilized while performing work. Provides support in implementing continuous improvement of maintenance strategy that fully utilizes available workforce to achieve maximum equipment availability. Performs work area inspections. Determines if work areas are safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments. Interprets information from schematics, maintenance and parts manuals. Troubleshoots and completes repair on all electrical systems in the process plant, assay and met lab, crushing plant, HV switchgear, and miscellaneous assignments. Maintenance of PLC, motor control circuits and HV cable repairs Responsible for compliance with company contamination control policies. Unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship including immediately reporting and mitigating spills and other environmental impacts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, using all standard forms of business communication. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. Clear understanding and willingness to observe and practice company SOPs and policies. Strong understanding of safety policies and procedures relating to fixed plant/crushing equipment and maintenance practices (i.e. guarding, blocking, lock out tag out). Understanding of failure and wear analysis. Knowledge and skills to operate and understand diagnostic equipment including computerized instrumentation. Ability to work safely and recognize electrical hazards Ability to examine tools and equipment for safety and install safety devices Ability to read electrical prints and schematics and to utilize appropriate test equipment Ability to utilize basic hand tools Consistent attendance. Valid Driver License. Excellent safety and attendance record. Own and maintain required personal tools.
Required Experience:
A minimum of 2 years electrical experience in a process mining environment is required Own and maintain required personal tools as per the technician's level of expertise.
