What they do

An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.

External Candidates, who currently hold the title of Trades Specialist (Electrician); SG-12 at another state facility, should submit a completed classified service employment application form and summary of related work experience and submit to hr@canton.edu. Internal Candidates should submit an application for promotion or reassignment to the Director of Human Resources at hr@canton.edu on or before the announced deadline. The best qualified candidates will be invited for a personal interview.
